This 3-day desert adventure begins in Errachidia and takes you to the magical Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll explore the stunning Sahara landscape and visit nomadic Berber families. Hidden oases and fascinating fossil mines await your discovery. The journey includes a sunset camel trek across golden sands. You’ll spend a night in a traditional desert camp. Berber music fills the air under a blanket of stars. This experience immerses you in authentic desert culture.
Your desert experience begins upon arrival at Errachidia Airport. Your driver will meet you there for the scenic transfer to Merzouga. Along the way, you’ll drive through dramatic mountain landscapes. Later, you check into your hotel upon arrival. This gives you time to rest and prepare for the adventures ahead.
Start your day with breakfast before a thrilling 4×4 tour. You’ll explore the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes up close. First, you visit Hassi Labied oasis, where you see traditional farming methods. You might also spot seasonal Sriji Lake if water is present.
Afterwards, you travel to Khamlia village. The Gnawa community welcomes you with their soulful music. Then, you explore the mineral-rich M’fis mines. Following this, you meet a nomadic Berber family in their tent. They invite you to share sweet mint tea and cultural exchange.
After lunch back in Merzouga, you prepare for your camel trek. Mounting your camel, you ride gently into the dunes. Along the way, you stop to admire the breathtaking sunset. You can even try sandboarding down the soft slopes.
Finally, you arrive at your traditional desert camp. Mint tea awaits you upon arrival, followed by a delicious dinner. Later that evening, Berber drumming fills the starry night sky. You drift to sleep in your comfortable nomad tent.
Wake early for a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. The golden light transforms the landscape before your eyes. After breakfast at camp, you return to Merzouga by camel or 4WD.
Next, you continue to the historic town of Rissani. If it’s market day, you can explore its lively souk. (Markets are held on Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays.) After that, you visit Erfoud’s famous fossil workshops. You’ll see ancient marine fossils being polished into beautiful art.
Then, you travel through the stunning Ziz Valley. Dramatic palm-filled gorges line your route at every turn. Finally, your tour concludes in Errachidia. You are dropped off at your hotel or the airport. You leave with unforgettable memories of your Sahara adventure.
